JA Finance Park Inspires Family to Financial Independence

JA Finance Park <http://bit.ly/WMwfFk> ? enables middle grades and high school students to engage in real-world financial activities such as online banking and paying bills, while being introduced to concepts like insurance, credit and long-term investments.[JA_Finance_Park_Logo_Color] Michele Carbo, development manager for Junior Achievement of Greater Baton Rouge and Acadiana <http://bit.ly/1ChnxBA> , shared the story of Susan Jones*, a caregiver of six girls,who shared her feedback with the onsite staff on her visit to JA Finance Park. Susan is raising the six girls with the goal of keeping them out of the foster care system.The oldest child to participate in JA Finance Park, now a freshman at Louisiana State University <http://bit.ly/1A2wXjn> , is doing well and is financially independent. Stacy said that each of the children came home from JA Finance Park over the last couple of years and shared their experiences with her. She attributes the girls? successes, in part, to their JA experiences.Susan recently went to JA Finance Park with the youngest of the children, a student at Sherwood Middle Academic Academy, to see for herself what it was that made the girls? experiences so positive and empowering."I?m so proud to have this type of program available for students in Baton Rouge and I know it has made a difference in children?s lives.
