JA Finance Park Virtual Fills Need, Builds Community

In response to Maryland's new financial literacy education requirement, schools in Central Maryland are implementing an innovative learning tool: JA Finance Park Virtual. Throughout the implementation process, Junior Achievement of Central Maryland has drawn praise from key stakeholders, including educators, parents, business executives, students and others, for its excellent product and outstanding service. The organization has also united many people in the community behind its cause and established itself as a solution provider and financial education leader in the region.

"JA Finance Park Virtual engages and excites students, leading to stronger critical thinking and decision-making skills while helping schools meet the new (financial literacy) standards," said Interim State Superintendent of Schools Bernard J. Sadusky.

Describing the school system partnership signing event, as well as the services provided by Junior Achievement of Central Maryland, Laurie Collins, a school system contact, said, "It could not have gone better. Our superintendent, school board chairperson, school administration, community leaders and state education officials experienced first-hand the quality of community partnership and student engagement that is the hallmark of JA Finance Park Virtual."

Junior Achievement of Central Maryland, through JA Finance Park Virtual and its many other programs, is empowering students with the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their futures and make smart academic and economic choices. Further, they are bringing community stakeholders together behind the cause of financial literacy, strengthening not only their critical community relationships, but also the community as a whole.

Congratulations, JA of Central Maryland!
